dont bother............ do the water block off plat einstead. even if you do that spacer, keep in mind engine bay temps are still enough for that intake to eventually soak in. if you want a cooler charge, buy a lower temp thermostat. just my 0.02

A spacers purpose is to keep air temp consistent when passing through into your engine. So if you have a 100hp motor now, that spacer helps to keep your engine pushing that hp consistently. As an engine gets hotter it pulls warmer air into your intake/decreasing your hp. The spacer will help to cool the air between the carb and intake. It won't make your truck faster, only help keep you at a consistent hp.

EDIT: whats a holley 32/36. I've heard of a weber 32/26. Also is this for a stock 20r intake?

Holley 5200 or Weber 32/36, they just didn't do the title well. They have the same bolt pattern. And i think the 20/22R carb mount is the same. I have an adapter that's supposed to work for both, so I'd guess it works for both.

So yea I've used them before, but does the intake on the 2xR get hot enough for it to really make a difference? I was just wondering, since I have a stock motor with just the header and Weber. It's no rocket but since I swapped over the REAL Weber it runs WAY better. Still needs a rebuild though, but just wanting to see what i can do to help it out a little. I've had good luck with spacers in the past on my old 350 in my '66 PU, and the 302 in my old '66 Mustang, both phenolic, so i was considering it. Also thought other people might be interested in it.

i never understood TB spacers either. the whole intake plenum would be hot, still.

yea but the fuel in the bowl won't heat up. The carb being isolated from the intake keeps the air temps and fuel temps down. Plus the longer runner length helps with torque, but 3/4" of an inch is kinda small.
