So I've already painted some dash parts but I've decided to go big and paint the entire dash, but mu question is the top portion on my dash is the padded foam type not the hard plastic, and I know you can just sand the hard plastic type but what do i do in my case . Do I have to fiberglass it?

oh man there is a few threads on this. I forget the members who did it but I think they just used filler apoxy and sanded it down with numerous coats. Its a TON of work either way. Im shaving/smoothin my dash and its padded but we are making a new top all together. Im sure if you wanted to spend the time you could pull the wrap off the dash and go from there.

This popped into my brain. Dont know if you want to go this route or just simply paint it.

I know I've seen those too they look like crap, the difference is I actually spent time on mine, but if I just sand and prime wont it just eventually crack because its squishy foam?

If you use that epoxy filler it has a flexibility factor you just got to build layers or as mentioned before pull that stuff off and start from the hard plastic underneath
