I'm in the process of getting ready to change the color of my '73 Hilux(gonna go the Plasti Dip route for now) and I plan on doing a two tone scheme of some sort. I have been trying to figure out how to do it. The main color is going to be Gunmetal Grey, the secondary is going to be black, and possibly the whole thing may get coated with Stormcloud Pearl. I would like to do the cab and hood black but I can't seem to find a good place to make the color transition. I just got the bed ArmaCoated and would like the black to tie in to it as well.

I wanted to use the body line that goes from the grill down the doors and picks up along the bed side but it curves up at the back of the door and shoots up towards the roof as seen in the picture.

Anyone have any ideas or pictures of similar paint on other Hiluxs? Thanks for any help or advice.

You don't think that the curve would stand out once it is painted?

Its gonna stand out no matter what but I think if you went black on top it would kinda hide it.

Can anyone do a Photoshop on it for me? MS Paint covers all the body detail, lol. Black top(above the body line) grey bottom(about the color of the primer)

I've seen that one before as well, lol. I'm trying to keep all the black at the top of the truck though and want to incorporate the hood as well. I've recently had the bed ArmaCoated and it should help the flow of color a bit.

Another question for everyone. My truck has an aluminum trim below the rear window and I need to remove it to take care of some rust before it eats through. How does it come off? I can see rivets inside the cab but nothing on the outside, is it supposed to just slide off or does it snap on? Should I just fill the holes and leave it off? I'm not sure what to do with it...
