Ok I have decided to redo my front suspension... northern road salt has killed my control arms and such so I am replacing both arms, both sides, torsion arms radius rods, torsion bars, tie rods and sway bar... also need a new radiator. so I got some stock arms, and radius rods from a guy parting a 91 in NC... no rust. so should I go with aftermarket/upgraded torsion bars, which ones are best? 26mm seems to be too much for the truck is the belltech sway bar worth it? or should I just get stock ones? and is it worth getting the aluminum rad on ebay, its a two core... there are $100 aluminum ones too but their single core, how much would the single core affect things. I plan on a ball joint flip up front a very slight bar turn down and taking out the middle rear leaf, I only want an inch or two drop. I drive it fast and hard, so road course type driving.... let me know what you think guys!! Thanks!! Oh i am working on a 92/95 4runner headlight install with the stock radiator support... It only takes adding these 4 mounts and then either the original or the 4runner lights will fit, the outer bolts have nuts tack welded to the rad support the inner two I tapped the sheet metal since they hit in a double layer of metal spot, worked great!, needed to move my horn, power steering cooler and ac evap can... more on all this to come.. here is a pic of the bolt mounts used to install
Is that where your at? looks so by your tag... I have some 3 inch drop blocks but am thinking the rear middle leaf out to soften the ride... do you hit your bumpstops or rub with your setup?
I'm actually resting on bumpstops up front. Keep in mind i've been daily driving this since ive done that xD In the rear i have 3" drop blocks. Initially, it was horrible... then I trimmed the bumpstops to regain some suspension travel Truck's been fine since. ONLY place I rub is the fender wells (which we discussed all over the place lol) Anyway, on your truck, a B/J with slight torsion cranking to equal 3" exact would provide you a pretty good ride. in the rear, if you go with 3" blocks, make sure you trim the bumpstops in half or more. it helps ALOT. Otherwise, your truck should handle pretty well. Add a swaybay... then you're gunna have ALOT of fun. my truck is still high enough to clear curbs LOL
the days of clearing curbs...i drove mine for the first time in 5 months tonight...it scraped a road turtle. and a little bump in the street. its like falling in love again.
