I've cut a frame to lower the front body mounts on a nissan hardbody, but I was under my pickup a bit ago and was wondering what cutting of the frame is needed to lay the frame flat.
It appears that the tranny crossmember would need to move up or be refabbed, the tranny itself needs to move up, The tranny bell housing protection bar needs to be taken off completely, exhaust and fuel tank need relocated,
and then there is the the crossmember between the two lower control arms.........?

search around on www.streetsourcemag.com there are several threads over there on how to Z a frame. its basically the same concept on all trucks. the tranny x-member needs to be either rebuilt or replaced. you can get 1 from www.candospecialties.com or build your own.

So, I'm going to try the crossmember, but I need to wait until the engine swap....
