Im trying to replace my oil pan gasket but im having a hard time getting the oil pan out. I have all the bolts off but when I go to slide it out it hits the plate on the front of the transmission. Its on a 75 hilux with a 5 speed. Anyone else experience this or have any advice?

20R im guessing? i know on some trucks you have to remove the plate from the trans (the scatter shield) and then it comes off.. its a two piece and sometimes held in place with the tranny to motor support braces...

Sorry, yes it has a 20r. I believe it has a 5 speed swap. From the reading I've done only the sr5 came with a 5 speed. So I just take off the engine to tranny mounts and the shield should slide right out?
