Ok i have a efi RE and i put on a headman header short stack i mean just to give it better breathing than the stock . But does it need the o2 sensor or can i restrict that ? I put the header on with no muffler just to see how it felt down the road but it felt odd . I mean it lagged a whole bunch . If i add my own piping since im ok with welding stuff . I was gonna weld a 3" piping all the way back then weld my glasspack onto the pipe from the header but do i have to cut holes for the o2 or can i restrick that ?

You need the o2 sensor, it helps the computer adjust/tune itself.. and 3" piping is wayyyyy too big for a 22re..

Well its not exactly 3" its around 2 3/4" because the flange of the header i lost so im welding the pipe to the header to my glasspack. Well its not a full on race truck but for a batt intake swap with a cheap air filter a 438 welded diff and a thrush muffler i kept up with a few trucks on my island that are running monster cams and 44 mikunis or 48 weber side drafts and a few people i raced claimed they have a stage 5 lc head and all this and one guy said he had a stage 5 crate motor . Im not bragging but it is what it is.

As for the o2 . Im gonna cut a hole for it to fit into the piping im gonna weld on my header and find a way to seal it in perfect . Would that be a good start or any suggestions ??

Still way to big for a stock engine. Bottom end power is going to suffer a lot going that big of pipe and a glasspack..

Alright man i guess ill stick with the 2" . The only reason i threw the 3" one out there is cos it had all the flanges and the angles i needed so i guess ill have to bend and re weld flanges on the 2" . Thanks man.
