YouTube - Are Fram Oil Filters The Best ? HAh! I'm never gonna buy one again. lol... sticking with purolator... or motorcraft... or stp... but not fram!
I read somesh!t about this about 2 years ago. Ive used nothing but STP ever since. I wana crack one open asweel to see how well the STP filters are manufactured
STP filter. He calls the piece of metal piece a spring, but that will fatigue if you change oil on regular bases.
I use our kinda nameless filters. I'll cut one open n show ya on Monday. They work decent as far as I can tell. My motor started out nasty when I got it. Now the oil comes out pretty clean.
WIX part# 51348 for me. All 3 in my fleet use it... 82 Hilux, 02 Is300, 03 Tundra! Gotta love Toyota engineering.... Fram = Fail! I've seen pics of nicely built motors and then when i see that bright orange filter i do this .....
yup........ working at a parts store i wont think twice over suggesting a stp over the fram (what we normally move) this was really educational. especially since i ran through all the related topics also.
Haha the reason i put NSFW is: 1. To make it fun 2. So FRAM lovers that are watching this at work won't start cussing! Lol...
They actually opened up an amsoil one... Garagedoorman, do you happen to have one for the 22R? And if so, what is the going rate for one if i buy it from you? Say I wanna buy 5 or more...
Amsoil filters are expensive. About 14 bucks ea. I use WIX. I buy a case at a time, which breaks the cost down to 5 bucks a filter. The way I look at it..... I am hard on a motor.... really hard on a motor. My 90 Chevy van has a 350 motor has over 300000 miles. It weighs with equipment 7500lbs. I drive WOT all the time, so help me God. But I've never had an issue when using amsoil. Yea its not cheap.... but you get what you pay for. Heres the amsoil oil filter.
You'll be surprised how many people don't know how **** those Fram filters really are. People just don't listen. Hell, I told you guys that already! Oil Filters Revealed - MiniMopar Resources last oil change, My friend and I managed to rip apart the Purolator PureONE PL30001... and dayumn, does it do work. the inlet side of the pleats.. caught every single bit of metal.... little specks. the opposite side? omg, FILTERED like no other. amazing stuff. If I was rich, I'd go with Amsoil. Since I'm not rich, the BEST I can get would be Pennzoil and Purolator PureONE's.
