Yeah, not to be picky, but the bottom pick is kinda dark. I want more. I love the truck though. The look is sweet retro.
thanks for the support..thing handles like a dream..25 mph turns at 60 with no tire squeal. and the night time pic was taken dark on purpose..i like how them circles look will try and get some more pics taken soon. next mods soon: new brakes all around (plan to convert rears to disc at some point) new center link add a cd player, new speakers, small sub and going to need a trany and motor here soon..well over 300k and she still prefers 90 mph
oh and forgot to mention that i got new headlights a couple months back..even at a lowered stance people still flash their highbeams and flip me off because of how bright they are. oops
xxr. on the topic of installing a sound system: what are usual issues i should expect to encounter? i plan to put new speakers in the exact same place the OE ones are at now and install a small sub between the bucket seats. where should i locate the amp? will this affect my battery/alternator? all advice is welcome and about sound insulation/deadening..suggestions? cheaper is always better
<a href="http://s1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd490/Tre_y_13/?action=view&current=R1-04055-025A.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd490/Tre_y_13/R1-04055-025A.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> installed new front discs, calipers, pads, and of course fluid..but now have this good awful (and loud) squeak everytime i have to brake quickly..any thoughts? could it be still the "break-in period" ? (no pun intended)
hmm that is a thought...pads were bought at autozone as just a basic OEM replacement set..they would have included the shims with the kit, wouldnt they?
thanks guys...still have a ton of work i need to do to it, just busy with work, a new wife and a new house! and about those shims...am i going to have to pick n pull those? or could i buy some new ones..i'm sure i have the old ones..they are just 600 miles away.. :/
oh and could the shim situation affect my brake pedal pressure? i was thinking i still had some air in the lines and was going to rebleed..but if its the shims then that would answer it
well i called the guy at the shop and he confirmed that for my model truck, the shims and pads are already connected..which i noticed during install. so i pulled the rimstires off..re-cleaned the disks..inspected to make sure everything was in order..re-bled them (which helped my pressure issue)..then scrubbed the disks again. im hoping that i just missed some grease/oil when i cleaned after install, which would be the cause of the squeak. going to take it for a test drive today when i get home **edit** anyone ever used sandpaper on new rotors in circular motions? heard this can help with loud squeaks too
okay well i fixed the brakes..but my carb finally crapped out which has caused it to sit for the last few weeks. also found that i need a new timing chain, cover, and probably new rods. how do you folks feel about LC Eng. products? 22r street pro..
They are expensive but I have never had a problem. I have there whole top end. The other way to go is engrbuilder. I have there parts in my other truck.
