Big plans for this sucker but about 15th on the priority list so you know what that means...

Yeah! Awesome! That's 2 of us! I also grew up on the Northside! Who knows, maybe not far from now we can get enough of us to have a meet somewhere...

 

I'm probably the oldest guy on this site ( and a few others),anyway born & raised in Oakland, high school years till 42 in San Mateo country,living in 707 area for last 25 years!!
And yes I drive a Mini Truck!!

 

I am in Monterey but go to San Jose a lot for other meets (supra meets mostly)

 

Wow! 2JZ in your pick up! Thats hella gangster! Local shop or did you do the swap yourself? I'm considering a motor swap for my 86 but I'm back and forth between that or a 3SGTE in my AW11 MR2...

Yo im in Davis but from Socal. It'd be effinsweet awesome to roll around somewhere in our minis!

 

I had plans to do it myself but ended up finding another member on here that already did the swap and had if up for sale. Picked it up and have been upgrading it getting rid of all the Ebay stuff for quality parts.

 

Hell yeah! Nice to meet you guys... Anyone know how to bump the thread to keep it near the top so more local folks can spot it? At this rate we can throw together a meet in no time!

 

Ha that we could do but the biggest thing is finding a weekend that everyone has off and is free. I do however agree that there should be a region section to help with meeting new people local to your area.

 

Thats 6 of us! We gotta keep this thread near the top some how. The moderators for the forum pay little attention to improvement and upkeep. We keep this thread ongoing it won't take long to get our Nor Cal Mini Truck Community together. Mini Truck Mondays...Toyota Mini Tuesdays...or whatever...it could be awesome. I'd have the most beat up pick up any meet we would have but...

Just make this a discussion and it will stay at the top. If your going to be planing meets tell us about what you would like and get others involved as well. If you can get good conversations going in this thread it will be seen by the moderators just be patient they are active just very sneaky lol.

Given that you were lucky enough to find one with the motor...you know of any shops who can do the swap. The 2jz or the 1UZ swap in the bay area?

 

Hey 530, Grass Valley. Too many Toyotas at the shop to list in detail, but here are some pics of the current project. Its a 66 RK-41(Stout 1900) that is all original, minus the front bumper and mudflaps. Have recently updated the front brakes,and charging system. I also had the upholstery sewn back up to the tuck and roll that i found under a few of the layers of ratty seat cushion

I did a lot of searching when it came to doing the swap but sadly most will not do it cuz they say it is a safety hazard lol. But if you make the right connections maybe you will find someone to do it. Lastly I never asked any Offroad shops if they would do the swap you may get lucky there cuz they are a little crazy topically

 

Thats what I found. Many of the rock crawler pick up guys have the UZ swap. Thats the direction I'll go.
