ok i just gave my 93 yota a wire tuck 22re it cranks its getting gas, i can smell it everything thing else works. but no spark any ideas guys???? i didnt do anything to the coil wires or the plug for the coil either its all stock. and it ran fine before this and no test light to try anyone have a diagram for the wire running to the coil? and i checked all fuses there all good
and whats this? it was bolted down with the coil stuff. does it need grounded?? just a condinsor right?
Gonna have to buy yourself a test light. For diagrams, go to autozones website, put in the vehicle and go in there to find the diagram you need. But here are a couple that may help. And check all your grounds. I'm sure it is something small to fix. You'll find it. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/re...geId=0900c152800610de&partId=0900c15280060f5e

It differs from the 89/90 and 91/92 bays. Probably small things like an extra sensor or a wire color. If I were you, I would save all the images of the diagrams for later use. And for future wire tucks on these trucks.
In that photo, bolt that metal tab to the frame/body. Clean the metal good underneath. A large self tapping screw should be fine. Or run it to a bolt somewhere within its reach. If that was near the coil and is no longer grounded, its probably the issue.
Run everything you changed VS the diagram. Check all the grounds. Run a continuity tester on each side of all of your wire extensions. Things like that.
well thats the odd thing cause the coil wiers are in the engine harness and it plugs righ into the ecu. didnt cut any of those., and i just pulled the ecu and all plugs are plugged in
there were 2 ground straps in the harness one actually in the harness then one from the batery ground and there both hooked i just checked for power at the drivers fuse box all had power list is engine ign tail wiper gauges stop radio cig
everything in the truck works all the way from the fuel pump to the wipers. but for some reason i have no spark at all. the injectors work also i can hear them plus smell the gas I have been searching for a few hours for some kinda answer and cant find anything to my problem. i even added a ground wire to the black wire that plugs right into the coil and nothing. mind you the truck ran just fine before this. all fuses are good. all grounds are hooked up intake. main ground from motor to battery then to the inner fender well. also there was another ground coming from the harness that is grounded to the motor also so any ideas? here is the one wire i have power at black wire red stripoe here is the other ground i was talking about the 2 yellowish wires. the end of this harness goes to the drivers fuse box and all fuses have power
Well if you are assuming all is working and getting power, then factor in the coil may have been damaged. Did you leave power running to it for any length of time? Like leaving the key in the on position? With the key ON does the positive side of the coil get power to it? Take the coil wire out of the distributor cap, hold it close to a bolt on the body somewhere (to ground out) and have someone crank the motor. If the coil has power to the positive side of it, and it has a good ground...when it cranks it should spark out of the coil wire to the body. If it has power and it DOESN'T spark out, then its the coil.
I would start at the coil, and trace backwards from there. Use that diagram. You'll get it all sorted out.
battery has been sitting out since i started the tuck. put in the maf then the battery and tried to start it. as for power at the plug that goes in the coil no there isnt. just the pwoer at the wire at the main plug. so im at a total aww
i know what ya mean by chasing it down and stuff but i didnt cut any wires for the coil lol this is so fubar and as for that diagram i cant read that poop lol
I meant at the terminal itself. The two little wires on it. Not the main coil wire. Hopefully somebody else can chime in and help. I'm not super familiar with the underhood of the newer trucks.
