Ran across this site while surfing the net for info on my truck. I have a 1990 ext-cab with a 7MGTE installed. Have been working on this project for about 2 years now. Engine is in, but has to be pulled because of tranny problems. I used a tranny from 1994 pick-up. I discovered after installation that I can not get it out of gear. Rather than fool with it any further, I purchased a tranny from a Supra. So the engine has to be pulled and the new tranny installed. With any luck after that is done, hooking up and changing out the fuel pump and wiring the Engine will be all that is left. Will keep you all updated.
