Just got a 93 xcab for my daily driver and have a 81 corolla for play. I only have a couple of issues with the truck- the A/C needs to be fixed and the speedometer shows that I am going 65 when I am doing 45:shrug:

Welcome to the site! Truck lloks good! Well by the looks of it those tires look like they are bigger than stock so if anything the speedo should be reading slower. The only thing I can think is someone changed the trans at one point and the gearing is different or is it possible the cluster was changed and needs to be calibrated?????

I'm not too sure but someone here will be able to help you.

Welcome to our toyotaminis family man! Its great you come with pics, because itll save ya the hassling - because " Yes, we are pic hounds " Love to hear what exactl you have in store for your mini. As for the AC have it checked for leaks or tested for pressure, most of the time missing coolant is to blame. As for the speedo difference, I totally agree with the calibration and check your vehicle codes and compare your equipment ( axle & tranny ) for differences, and or get her calibrated. Also, do you notice anything in the rpm's while driving and noticing speedo difference . . . Welcome home . . . :waytogo:

Thanks everyone- I messed with the speedometer wires and now it works fine, maybe it was just loose:clapping:. This is my first Toyota truck but I do have two 81 Corollas and had a Matrix. I couldn't pass this one up- only $2000 for it.

Welcome! The truck looks great! Did it come with a powder coated or painted valve cover or is it just dirty? If it's dirty, don't feel bad, mine's covered in oil, grease and dirt.

As for the AC, I'd recomend an R134a conversion, I want to do that myself but the problem is coming up with the $$$.

I thought so! Would make a great pre-runner in the Baja races!

Does look great. I need to get my AC fixed, I've got a vinyl bench that's a heat trap. Whenever I get out of it on a hot summer day, I look like this->

At least you got the speedometer fixed now. Probably will save you some horns and middle fingers!

Just picked up a 82 Supra AFM. It looks huge vs the stock 22RE one:clapping:. Already did the battery flip now to install the AFM and a cone filter. Will post pics once I get the filter and intake tube cut to length.

Replaced or should I say installed idle arm bushing today- the pile of crap next to the shaft is all that was left from the old ones :brickknock: Runs nice and smooth with no front end noise :clapping: New bushings were only 8 buck from Toyota.

Now all I need to do is find a nice roll bar and brush guard for a set of lights:thinking:
