    hello!
    i just got an 86 pickup 4x4, 22RE N/A with the 4-speed auto.
it is the slowest thing i have ever driven.
however, i love this thing already.

i have already modded it, i guess, with some 01 montero wheels that i got for free and some new 235/70/16 tires. my driver front tire was seperating, i guess 6 year old tires will do that.

i'm a student at UTI rancho cucamonga and this is my daily driver as i work on my project car. one free internets to whoever can guess what kind of car it is!

    anyway, picture time.
    when i got it:

the site looks great, and i look forward to becoming an active member!

the tail light made me think corolla, but that looks like a single cam nissan valve cover of the old L block style. so, it has to be a 200SX like that guy ^^^ said.

no problem. is that car a RWD or just a goofy non transverse FWD? toyota made atleast one i know like that. lol. the AL12 chassis, which was the tiny little 80s corolla tercel. it tripped me out at the junkyard.

FWD? did that once, never again :p
well that was a first car. hahah

but no, really its RWD. CA20E engine, its about as good as a paperweight, they have about 80 rwhp all stock and they have 2 litres of displacement and the con rods are weaker than a toothpick. ugh.

its going to have a 5 speed and a welded diff, along with some sort of suspension work (maybe S13 coilovers with custom rear) and lots of weight reduction.

cool. sounds like you have a plan. why not swap in a carbed L series motor? they are everywhere. or a KA24. drift kids yank them out because they think they cant be built.

im not even sure if an l-series would drop in, maybe an l20 out of a 510 but i dont know, and being a young whippersnapper i hate the idea of anything carb'd hah.

and around here, people know the ka's can be built, a full motorset with trans goes for like $600. easy swap into an S12 though, i was doing one of the first ones back in 06. with all the tools you see in the red box hah!
but if i want more power i'll just grab a CA18ET manifold off a freind, and pick up a rebuildable T25 and have a go at it, i've always wanted to learn to rebuild a turbo anyway. and if i mess it up, $25 for another CA20 (if that) and, well, yeah, you get the point ha

oh, and if i go turbo, i'm going to have the wastegate dump come out of the cowl aiming at the passengerside windsheild. just because.

haha. im only 21. i heart anything carb'd. lot of guys here are pretty young. but i like the idea of the wastegate dump. its like my dump valves on the airride of my dodge will run to the passenger tail light area. maybe the front somewhere. but out the side for sure. to scare people as i drive by sidewalks slow. lol.

i like them better than a stock efi setup. alot simpler to work with. i took all the TBI crap off my dodge and wend to a 4bbl. not saying i wont do efi again, just not likely. haha.

    Welcome!:D

Nice looking 4x4. Yes, they are very slow compared to most cars, especially newer ones.

Newer model Ranger V6's keep dusting me on the freeway...

Why thank you, sandshark. Hopefully a tune-up will help it, i mean, the wiper blades were on the truck sense new.

    I'm not joking.

Who knows what else was never changed.

I'm driving past Lake Elsinore tomorrow, hah. There's a lot of SoCal'ers on here.
