Hey guys found this site looking for a 70s hilux, $ issues put that on hold but I still got my bagged 87 st. cab Layin frame and my (started as a 2wd xtra cab) but is now a fire wall buggy rock crawler
I built the crawler myself from a stock '85 xtra cab 2wd pickup to what it is now 22re out of a 90 pickup with stripped down wiring harness W56 tranny Dual yota cases 2.28 & 4.7 5.29 gears lockers and chromolly axles f/r 85 front end fully trussed 87 rear end 4 beard seats and crow harnesses Allied 32 bolt bead locks and 37" bfg krawlers And a lot of 1 3/4" .120 d.o.m tube
I bought the 87 already bagged and in need of some love its my daily driver and slowly but shurly getting better and better lookin every weekend
The 87 looks pretty straight and lays down nice. That rig looks like a lot of fun.4 seater too!!Me and my friends would put that to good use for sure.I also have an 87 single cab(not bagged but built for speed)and a 4x4 that I am working on building.Nothing as bada$$ as yours but good enough for the trails over here.Hope to get me some Bilsteins all around and a new set of Boggers soon.Maybe 35's but not set on that yet.
Btw hows the rigs power with 4 people in it.Should be no problem with the 529 gearing but any upgrades to the motor?
With the gears and keeping it in double low it does awesome, and I use the trans for speed control its a stock 22re with a k&n
