I've just bought a 94 toyota thunder sport truck ( i believe they were atlanta specific trucks )

My plans by new years are belltech mono leaf, and 1-2 inch blocks in the rear with bilstein HD struts.

In the front I'm planning lca's and spindles with bils HD struts also.

My question is (this is for the owners with bilstein HD's and lowerd) how is the ride quality? will i need to research shorter front struts because of the spindles? i know stock size struts work fine with the LCA's.. and with both BJ flips would that affect the length of front strut needed?

    Thanks!!
    Mike

    Mike,

Welcome and congrats on the new truck!

You will need shorter rear shocks, but as long as you are not cranking down the torsions, use oem length shocks in front. LCA's, spindles, and BJ flip all use an OEM length shock. Our trucks use shocks, btw, not struts.

someone else will have to chime in on ride quality of the HDs

Make sure you go to the build section and start a thread, we like pics!!

I'm sorry i meant shocks haha! struts= spring perch.... now why would i need shorter rear shocks? because of the thickness difference in the leaf springs? I know with blocks the distance from top to bottom shock perch stays teh same no matter what size, i figured that would pertain to the mono leaf as well.

and no I'm looking for 5 in the front without tweaking the torsion bars so its not flappy.

    Thanks for your info!

Yeah, since the aftermarket springs have less arch they are going to move the bottom spring plate and lower shock mount closer to the frame and upper shock mount.

makes sence! I'm guessing a 1-2" shorter shock would work? and I'm talking full extension and full compressed measurements 2" shorter
