Been looking for a Toyota pickup for a few months now and ended running into someone who had one and was looking for a Nissan 240sx shell that I had. So we traded and now I'm a proud owner of a 94' Toyota Pickup 2wd. I love how this thing drives.

I love Toyota/Lexus but have an SR20DET motor and was thinking of dropping it into my Pickup truck for more HP and make a drift truck, would that be taboo? And has anyone else done it before? Or should I just turbo my 22RE?

Couldn't figure out how to make my picture smaller to share will yall.

How much power do you want and how much of a purist are you? Do you live somewhere that has CARB regulations?

A turbo 22re will never make anywhere near the power of the SR, and would be a pretty pricey build as well.

Hoping to push 350 to 400 hp. Not really a purists just more about performance reliability.
I'm in SC and we don't have inspection.

350? In my opinion, you'd be better off with the swap.

    Thanks! At least 350hp.

Will the stock rear end be able to handle up to 400 hp?

What do you think about the Nitro LSD?

Depends on what rear end you have, I know a lot of people going high power turn to a ford 8.8.

    Welcome.
It's your truck and you can put whatever powerplant in it that you want. Personally I'd prefer to keep things all Toyota, but when you've got the motor sitting around already it's kinda hard to say no. I believe stock your truck should have the 7.5" diff, so swapping out the rear axle would likely be a very wise idea if you're going to be almost quadrupling your power, lol.
