I'm trying to figure out what is the most original way to mount a new muffler I bought for a '78. This isn't mentioned in Haynes, so can anyone take a quick pic how the exhaust looks from under the cab to the tail, please ?
most orignal like how it came from the factory? there should be rubber hangers and hooks under your truck, the exhaust shop should make hangers that come off of the hooks. The rubbers are probably gone but the shop should have them.
hmmm that would be terrible to run out of rubbers... I usually get mine at walmart, never tried and exhaust shop lmao.
hmm...well i've never actually seen under a toyota truck myself, haha... so i'm not sure what to look for... hmm... well tomorrow afternoon i'll take a pic of the truck and maybe you can show me. I'm just trying to get the truck as organically original as it was in 78 haha
lmao V8!, that was ... hey justin, get the pic from somebody yet? try some web searches if no one has a shot, i have an 83, might work so let me know.
Well a while back I came across a 77 at a junk yard and the muffler was just piped from under the cable to a steel bolt hanger on the frame mid bed. Right now, mines just bolted onto the exhaust pipe i don't drive on unfamiliar roads though, lol.
