My friend/roommate Debi bought this back in 2007:

    Her truck is a 22RE w/ 5-speed, 3" lift.

The current suspension was installed by the previous owner. We think it's a bit stiff. I have some AGX 4" (or was it 5"?) suspension I got from my friend's Yota. I've ridden in his when they were installed, and I like the feel.

I own a Tacoma, and my friend Marvin owns another Yota pickup... here's our three trucks together, taken back in late 2007:

Back in 2008, I crunched the front end up and destroyed the radiator core support, radiator, fan shroud, and the fan blades. Also bent the power steering pulley. And wrinkled the shell at the inner fenders. So my friends and I busted out the cordless sawzalls and cut the front end off of a similar vintage 4Runner. We then cut off the crunched up pickup shell, and welded the 4Runner one in place. Everything lined up on the frame correctly, and the Tacoma fenders bolted right on as did the replacement hood. I bought a radiator for this 1990 truck but for whatever reason, the radiator mounts to this core support about 3 inches too high. I'm wondering if I need to get a radiator from a different year. Either that or drill and weld on nuts in new locations to relocate the radiator lower. Any thoughts are welcome.

We are now sorting out the fuel system. It ran like a top when I had the accident, but it sat for a couple years. The engine turns over, but no ignition... I sprayed some starter fluid inside the throttle body and it popped and tried to fire up. So there's a fuel delivery problem. Either the filter, or the pump, or who knows what. We just bought a new filter today... plan is to pull the old one, see if the fuel pump pushes fuel out of the line, and if not work our way towards the fuel rail.

We'd like to get this thing running again... we love to bike ride places and it was a great truck for taking the bikes all over, not to mention hauling camping gear and just generally going on nice drives... the 22RE is of course an awesome, grunty, and yet reasonably fuel efficient engine. The AC is super ice cold. Hopefully I can get this thing going asap. We let it sit too long and now we find the time to finally work on getting it running.

Anyways it's nice to see that there's a specific place for this 22RE pickup.
