ok i just bought a 94 yota single cab 5 speed and was trying to find some pics of one with 20's... ive went through the posts a couple time an never found really what i was looking for... are 20's on the yota just not popular or what? i seen a bunch with 2/3 or 3/3 drops and 18s but none on 20's... is it possible to run them with no drop besides maybe a block in the rear to level it out? anybody know? help is appreciated...
not to mention that the wheel size and weight tend to dog the motor down a bit so you will lose power and economy........ but if you like the way they look and that out weighs the cost of them then go for it. should be able to fit 20's no issue. mild drop even...... you might get some slight rubbing but i imagine minimal.
I think 17's is the perfect size. 16's is to small and 18's is to big.. Thats my 2cents. Here's my 2/3 drop. 5zigen Rims. Front: 17x9 wrapped with stretched 235/40/17's. Back: 17x10 wrapped with streched 245/40/17's
i think the reason most people stick with the 18's is cuz thats what they see on the bagged trucks... and the bagged guys stick with 18's cuz the stupid clutch master has to pretty much be moved inside after 18's. i think the 20's look great, but 22's are a little too big.
My 20s wrapped in 235/30R20 tires are about a half inch larger than my stock wheels. Its not like they are 6" bigger.
Actually, I just did a little research. The Circumference of my 195/75-14 stock tires is 80.2" and the Circumference of my 235/30R20 tires is 80.3" so the difference is less than I estimated by holding them up against each other. Here is a cool site to do some comparing if anyone is interested. http://www.powerdog.com/tiresize.cgi
not to highjack your thread, but you should head over to the introduce yourself section and post up some pics of your truck as it is now, and how it started out when you got it.
