    Hey guys,

My name is Robb and I've been into Toyota trucks since the early 90's.

My first truck was a 90 2wd with a 22r and front and rear antisway bars, it was alot of fun.

    I bought an 86 4runner in 03 and a 90 extracab in 05, both 4wd. I gave the 2wd to my father in law:doah: I don't drive either truck offroad much.

I am ready to sell both of the 4wd trucks and build a 2wd extracab as a "protouring" style highway driver. I would eventually like to do a 3.4 Taco motor or a healthy 2.7, nice suspension and wheels and tires.

Now I just have to find a truck to build...

    Robb

Thanks for the welcome guys, I have found a truck to buy.

I am selling my 90 V6 extracab to a friend at work and I found this yesterday.

I am looking at a 92 extracab with a 22RE and an auto. I am not crazy about the auto but the truck is clean and drives well, it has 134,000 miles and the price is right.

Here is a link to the ad. http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/cto/1097461416.html

I will post some pics when I get it.

    Welcome.

You could always replace the tranny for a manual. Looks alright. Correction, better than alright. Was the "timing belt" a typo though? The Toyota R engines are chained, if it was the 3VZ, a timing belt would make sense.

I also enjoy the older 4Runners, (love the removable top) if I could afford more than one car, one of those, or the Back to the Future 4x4 would be my choice.

If I really dislike the auto I will swap it out for a 5 speed.

It has a new timing chain, all the work was done by a shop. The guy selling it doesn't know much about them. It has all service reciepts and also the original window sticker.

I am very familiar with these motors, I just did a new timing chain on the 4runner and a timing belt in the truck along with new radiators and water pumps.

I also have a 22RE longblock in the garage waiting to be rebuilt for the 4runner.

It has some flaws that I will need to deal with but that is part of the fun.

Future plans call for an EB 270 cam, TB/battery swap, 2 1/4" exhaust with a Magnaflow cat and muffler(can't do a header with the auto cause of the shifter), Mustang "Bullit" wheels, antisway bars with either Bilstien or KYB shocks and a nice stereo.

    Let the games begin.

I have had Toyota trucks since 1994, my father in law still has my old 1990 singlecab.

I am hoping to talk him out of the oversize antisway bars I put on it.

I will try to find a pick of the 1990 singlecab, I drove it for 10 years before I bought my 4runner.

Here is a pic of the 4runner when I bought it.

I will be interested to hear how you like it. What other mods will your motor have?

    Thanks

I'm lovin' that 4Runner. Like you, I want a full Magnaflow setup. I've already got the catalytic converter because someone cut off my stock (see general discussion - cat thieves) and I am dying for a muffler. (sorry for the thread jack...) Your new truck is a beauty. Was it Toyota serviced or just regular shop?
