Hey yous guys, whats up? I live in Knoxville TN. I just bought my great uncles 86 Toyota Pickup. He purchased it in 94 w/ 104000mi, and I bought it w/ 120000mi on the odometer last week for $500. It has a straight body, with a little rust on the rear fenders. It's an automatic but I couldn't pass up a deal like that. Actually I had no choice, I got laid off in December and I still owed 1500 on my 96 Nissan 240sx. So I decided to sell it in April to some retard who gave me $4000 for it My great uncle passed away in January so I bought the truck from his son. I'm new to this site, and I don't know too much about the 22r or torsion bar and leaf spring suspensions either. So please don't burn me too bad for asking questions, I'll try my best to "lurk" before I ask something thats been covered 100 times. I'd like to make some good friends on here as well because Knoxville sucks hard. It seems like everyone I used to chill with is on drugs all the time Drifting used to be my anti drug, but now I think it shall be scrapin'. I'm a nice guy and handy with mechanics (no welding or fabricating anything serious) and I don't mind helping someone out who is in need. Peace
Thanks for the warm welcome. Sorry I lied about the pics, my camera crapped out on me today. Maybe tomorrow
Sounds like its a good truck though. Everything on these trucks can be easily replaced. Suspension drops are simple, read stuff by SD YOTA, he posted a few writeups. Get some pics up so we can see what you are working on
No doubt, great truck. Rides different from that 240 though. Glad you were able to sell it for what you did. Sounds like it left you with a little change in your pocket. Use your search button, its your friend. A lot of the veterans have taken a lot of personal time to do write ups on some of the stuff you've mentioned. I know I've learned a lot from them. Welcome
Looks like a real solid starting point. Some buckets, a drop and wheels and youve got a nice cruiser.
