new from the Bay Area

    yo my fuel gauge does not work what can i do its all plugged in on the back of the cluster. my speedo cable is also broke so i have no idea howmany miles i go or when i will run out of fuel so it would be great to fix that gauge. Dont want to run out any more!!

    Hey Bro, Welcome to the Site.....

    There are 3 possible answers to your situation.

    1 The sending unit in the tank is no longer grounded properly, remove the plugs clean them and re install. Or your sending unit is fried.

    2. The Gage in the dash has failed, remove the wires clean and re install.

    3. there is a brake in the wire somewhere, one way to check this would be disconnect the wire from both the tank and the gauge, and either ground it and check continuity with an ohmmeter by touching a 12 volt hot wire using the tank wire as a ground, or vise versa at 12 volts to one end wile checking the other end thus verifying the wire is not grounded or broke.
