New 79 owner, just a few pics. Not much to say about it right now, except it is green. Starts and drives like a champ. Nevada truck, no rust, except minor surface on the roof. Front bumper is a little tore up but nothing Majar, all most no dents, minor dings here and there. It is only 30 years old. 20r engine, 4 speed. Engine still purs like a kitten. Going to get smogged tommorow, and registered and she should be back up and running 3m93o13p45O45P95Rd98h65569b924a881821.jpg 3nf3k53l65Oa5S15Re98h86a282e7d68914f3.jpg
sweet longbed! i am really starting to dig the old longbed toyotas. and that color is pretty sweet. whats the plans for it?
Refresh the suspension, it is loose at speed, expected for it's age. Repaint in that green. I don't know if it is stock, but it is 70's bitchin. some old school 70 style rims and a tie down bed cover. This truck is all most perfect. Underneath is dirty but clean, so no bags. It would be a crime to chop it up. So it is going to just be a cruiser and light hauler. All the mini guys around here say the same thing, to clean to chop, they would still be happy to roll with a non bagged old school toy. I'll get some pics of the under side and the interior, and I think most people would agree w/ us to do nothing but refresh and repaint. Interior: Since that is where I spend the most time. I all ready started mocking up my old set of recaro's, I believe 82, all most perfect for the theme and a center council that does not chop up the dash. Center council for the audio and gauges and what ever else I decide to try and fit, some simple door panels and just roll Last pic as I just bought it today. is say just get it dumped real low on some era wheels, ditch the rear bumper and leave the stock paint. looks good. i like a truck with character, old paint helps that a long ways. lol.
I am a body and paint man, and if I left it alone it would drive me crazy. OCD I guess, if the wife's jeep or my car even gets a scratch or a rock chip, I'll notice it the next time I wash and wax. And then I'll go freaking nuts till I pull it in the shop and fix it. Just one of those little quirks that everyone has
i know what you mean. my buddy is a body guy. him and his friends always tell me to repaint mine the stock color but i like being able to not cringe if i get a little chip or scratch somewhere. and i dont feel bad if it doesnt get washed all the time. but it will get all pretty the next 2 weeks for a show.
