so my trans went out on my truck. whats trans came in these trucks? mines a five speed would it be cheaper to rebuild with new everything or find one at the junkyard?
you should have the steel case W50. they came from 75-83ish in pickups. also in some celicas and coronas. you could run a later pickup trans if you get the bellhousing too. or the ever sought after W58 from an 81-85ish celica. they have more of an overdrive to 5th gear and better spacing on the rest of them. again. youd need the bellhousing. there are 3 bellhousings available amongst the different combos i know of.
so how do i know which trans is a w58 and what bell housing would i need? and do i have to cahnge any mounts and the drive line etc?
