I am starting to build a custom trailer, to perfectly fit my yota since I seem to tow it more then drive it, good investment haha... anyways I need to know.. 2wd single cab short bed - - - how much does it weigh roughly how wide is the body at its widest spot how long is it And what is the space in between the front and rear wheels Also if anyone has ANY CLUE how much the front end weighs versus the rear end lol... gunna try to distribute the weight as good as possible.
that, and depending on the length of the vehicle and how many axles you are gonna have on the trailer too. if you're doing a single axle trailer just long enough for your truck, you will probably want the axle right around, maybe slightly forward of your back axle so it puts the weight of your truck evenly between your tow vehicle and the trailer axle.
here, this should give you some of the info you need, if not all of it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Hilux
thanks, it was going to be 2 axle but I went to the store today and saw the kits that have a receiver end for the tow truck and 2 bars that attach to the vehicle (tow bars..) they were marked down from 110 to 35 made by reese so Im almost done installing them.. all I gotta do is back up the titan to it and 2 pins she is on... gunna work on wiring a trailer pin to the tail lights so i dont have to buy any brake light kits... I did it once but ripped it out.. gunna do it again...
just pull your driveshaft when you tow it. "oh bad bad joo joo tow a vehicle in neutral. not good idea, much better pull driveshaft be safe"(in funny asian accent)
just like rolling to a red light, you want your foot on the clutch and the transmission in gear. you don't want to roll any vehicle on a tow bar with the driveline in. short little hauls are ok, but if you're going highway speeds or long distance, it can be bad for your tranny.
