i finally finished up the valve cover went to start the truck nothing but relay noise a few taps on the starter and it sounds like its engaging but thats it do you guys think the starter is beat or is it something else? oh yeah brand new battery and connections are all good

 

Take a test light and make sure the trigger wire for the soleinoid is getting power when you crank it. If yes... and connections and bettery are good then id say your starter is pooched. That or you engine is siezed..... but i cant believe that would be the case.
