    1988 toyota pickup singl-cab
    droping oil pan on my 1988 toyota p/u tuk out arrow alredy but oil pan still will not drop if anyone can send me picks or let me no how its done i would realy appreciate it thx

    If the pan hasn't been dropped before you'll need a large sized screw driver or small pry bar to seperate the pan from the block... The factory used RTV instead of a gasket so it takes a good amount of prying to get that sucker off... Try your best not to bend the pan (eventually you'll have too) and pry at the corners of the block. *Do not pry at the timing cover (aluminum)...

    If you need more room to drop it, unbolt the crossmember and idler arm assy from the frame (mark reference points to prevent any alignment shifts). The steering stuff will drop enough to get the pan out with ease... Good luck!
