well i'm just trying to get a little more street power out of it, I was planing on sticking an early 90's ct26 supra turbo in it and tuning for 8 pounds of boost or less
[low boost for street reliable results:)] I am running and allready swaped in a fully rebuilt
[with stock pistons, rods, and upgraded timming chain components] 22re injected motor.
I planed to upgrade my front brakes by using, a turbo 4 runners, 4 piston calipers, I dont know if I will need to take the whole front spindles, but I allready know the calipers will bolt on to my stock setup, but my stock rotors are not side vented which is why I assume I would need the whole front spindles to run vented rotors.

also, has anyone heard of anybody else doing the above mentioned brake setup/swap on a 2wd, and if so could you please post a link i'd apriciat it.

    Welcome!

I did a big brake conversion on my 82.

I love the results. If you care to read...

    http://www.toyotaminis.com/forum/suspension-chassis-67/front-caliper-rotor-would-you-chose-5463/

One thing to keep in mind tho. The 79-83's dont have drop spindles (or arms) availible. I swapped the front end components to a 84 and later style.

Something you may want to do, maybe not.

I think the 4Runner calipers are too heavy, and you cant get a wide rotor in em. But thats my opinion.
