Whats up everybody. I'm from Guam. Yes we have roads and running water out here. And yes we have plenty of cherry trucks. I have an 87 regular cab. I recently did an engine swap due to block issues. Put in a better block and head. Still 22r. I'm running a 280 Comp. cam, centerforce 2 dual friction clutch, hooker headers and exhaust,9 lb. flywheel,2 barrel weber,4 speed trans with a 411 rearend. Since I had the engine out I took the time to strip the truck down and paint everything (chasis, cab underside of the bed, inside cab, everything axcept body because body was recently painted white) I did this because on guam everything rusts even plastic. I also lifted the rear back to stock height.( got it with a three inch drop)The front has about a 2 to 3 inch drop. I wanted to give it the california drop look. I had a set of ADR 18's that I ran on my 98 Tacoma(I sold) The rims were a little beat up so I had them powder coated (gloss black) for about $350. I put 45's in the front and 50's on the back. On Guam the roads are jacked up so slamming your truck just leads to more suspension problems down the line. I also took a tailgate from an earlier model (the one with the latches on the top corners no toyota logo) and modified it to my bed. My truck also has a his and hers sun roof from back in the day. On Guam these were very popular but i'm not sure i'm going to keep it it leaks. You need an umbrella in the truck when it rains. So I'll try to get some pics up soon.
sounds sweet, i would love to see some pictures. i know there are a couple of other members from Guam on here as well
Wrong timing This thing says 4:30 am but its like 8:40 pm. Pacific islands must be far from you. Last fri we had to head to high ground because of the tsunami. No joke. first thing i thought of was my family second was get my truck to high ground. But nothing affected us. Thank God.
Binadu Thanks che'lu. I knew only someone from Guam would recognize that. Did you see my custom vise grip window crank?
Bags Looking into installing bags. Hardly anybody has bags out here. Can anyone make a suggestion for some non-expensive easy to install bags?
Bags are gonna be expensive if you buy quality parts. You get what you pay for. I had vice grip window cranks once. Then I took a dremel to them so I could get a socket on then used a small rachet. Worked great an looked sik
