so heres the deal, i have limited funds and and weekends to work on my truck... not to mentoin limited skills as far as welding, fab ( i do have a miller mig, and a plasma cutter at my work place)... having said that im a little nervous to start my own build thread but hey, ive had this truck for 2 years, i bought it for 50 bux and its high time i did some work to it...!!!! my boss donated 3" lowering blocks for the rear... View attachment 5204 last night i choped 2 coils, it seams to have done a nice job of leavling it out. View attachment 5205 also i rattlle canned the paint... of course I wanna bag and drag this truck n ive got a ford 302 n tranny for this bad boy but first things first, this is a learning experience for me, and my daily driver. having said that whats the next step to laying this truck on the ground? i wanna knock out the small stuff first (like the disk swap)before i atempt crazy big stuff.
Your pics didn't come up. Check the pre 75 discussion board, there are couple write ups that will help with the disc brake build.
Start practing your welding man. If you wanna bag it yourself you should have a good welder an good welds. You'll need a notch 4 link or 3 link. Probably bag cups in the front since there's coils an not torsions. It's alot of work but worth it IMO
I'll try to get some pics up tonight. I was already reading up on the disc swap, my driver front drum is dumping fluid and is pretty scary to drive so I'm ganna make a trip to the junk yard Sunday. I would like to take a welding class but I don't have time.. Any major structural welding I can just have my brother or boss do.
couple of pics of ma work so far not the most awesome stuff but heres the back droped with 3'' blocks then with 2 coils cut up front also heres 2 of the paint in progress. you can see the bottom was how it looked when i got it as well as the stock stance
