What exactly are you wanting to do? Of course they can be modified, but to what end?

Red wire with a black stripe is reverse lights everywhere.

Could run a toggle switch sending power to the reverse lights on the tails. Then you don't have to be clutched out in reverse. Allows slower park control while lit up.

Or turn the haZard flashers on, the orange is a nice lit up flow backing up. It's what I do lol. My reverse lights are weak.

You could always run a momentary-on switch to a mount on the shifter. When the shifter is put into reverse, it would press the switch in and turn on the back-up lights. If you wanted really bright back-up lights, you could run the same setup to a set of auxiliary lights mounted on the bumper. Use anything from a cheapie set of fog lights all the way up to huge off road KC's. However, due to the incident in my youth, I have to advise that you check local laws before installation.

If you mount extra lights tuck them up under the body so they flood the ground but aren't even seen from the rear when off. It would also help protect them. Any set of $15 auto parts store fog lights would be a huge amount of light to backup. Some are coming out as LED too.
