I have gone through 3 brand new clutch master cylinders and I absolutely hate messing around bleeding that system. Yesterday, I swapped out my third for another of a different manufacturer (under warranty at Autoaid).

Yesterday I spent four and a half hours bleeding it, then my dad tells me at the last minute that his brake bleeder's f***ed up.

Weird things I noticed though... the new one seems very responsive with subtle clutch release, and it squeaks every once in a while (any thoughts?)

I measured the pedal to cylinder edge and it is exactly the same(repeated from OE Toyota to the third), so no problems there.

Ouch. That one has to be even worse to replace; mechanically and more so if you don't bleed it all the way...

In my case, his bleeder kept sucking air that wasn't even in the system, it apparently has a few bad fittings. Even still, I managed to get everything set up for me to do my 25 mile morning commute.

If I have to do one more, I'm going to cuss up a storm, then make a dictionary of all the words - on top of that, get a new bleeder screw, my 10mm wrench rounded it off a bit...

What brand master cylinder are you buying? I say buy an OEM one from marlincrawler or lc.

Two were Wagner, I don't know who this new one is, just it was a little bit pricier.

I'm a starving college student with a 4x4... hard to get a lot of spending money...

I hear ya. A new oem master cylinder costs $60. I think that's cheaper than the 3 you have bought.:waytogo:

New cylinder was "Beckarnly" or some kind of thing like that. Hard to read the logo.

I didn't have to pay a cent for some of my relacements, but this new one was pricier. I asked my uncle what he'd recommend (as it's his shop) and he said to try this one, only $7 more.

Other than the occasional squeak, its working great... I'm getting used to the over-responsive pedal feeling (it could have been that my last one was getting too worn out...)

Replace your slave cylinder, I had the same problem, the rubber is probly falling apart in the slave contaminating the fluid and tearing up the new seals in the new master, the squeaking can just be a dry pin on the master.

I prefer to get my parts from my aunt and uncle's shop, not only because they are family and I get a discount, but also because 1)they can get very high quality parts and 2)if it's not in stock, they'll order it - usually ovenight delivery.

I'm going to be getting my Toyota bumper brackets frome them soon, as well as a chrome bumper.
