Hey guys, loooooong time lurker (2007 maybe?) So long in fact, that it was impossible to resuscitate my old account due to a non-existent email.

Shoot... alright guys I just got my truck back after having had it stolen for the third time (Fresno... LOL.) It was pretty much a bottom up rebuilt (slashed tires, shattered windows, burnt clutch, popped cylinder, stripped interior) and I finally got it running...

    Issue is:

Obviously, the bolts look to be the culprit, but are not. I've replaced them and no dice... No clue what's going on! New engine/clutch. Please help guys.

Is it motor oil or gear oil? Could be a front main seal on the trans. Especially if it got as beat as it sounded.

My w50 tranny had a hard front seal which did the same, gunked up my bell housing n soaked 1/8 of my clutch disc.

Can't overlook a bad rear main seal or even check the valve cover gasket on the back side of the head.... it could run down and drip off the bell housing like a bad rear main seal.

If its engine oil you're losing...

Well crap. I certainly hope it's not any seal problem. But I guess I'm going to have to tear it apart and check. I guess the best solution would be to pressure wash it and actually see if the leak is falling down, as apposed to originating at the bellhousing like I suspect? I just don't want to tread the same road with no results. Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Yeah, there shouldn't be any oil in the bellhousing to begin with, so its either from the tranny front seal or the engine rear main seal.... and if you're lucky a bad valve cover gasket leaking down to that point.

My rear main leaks about a quart every 3000miles. It sucks not having a garage or the time. I'm waiting for my clutch to get bad enough before tearing it apart in the parking lot of my apartment complex, lol.

Valve cover is a likely culprit though. With those half moon rubber gaskets at each end of the head it could leak pretty fierce back there. Washing and seeing where its from is a great starting point. Purple power degreaser works great.
