Has anyone done a LS1 swap here? I'm considering it in the future. Just trying to get some info. I'm sure it can be done. Anything can be with time and money lol. I'd love to keep my tranny and just put in the motor.:waytogo:

4x4 guys do it all the time. Advance Adapter makes a weld-in setup for it.

Use a T56 from an F-body. It's a crap transmission from a drivability perspective (very heavy shifts) but it will survive the power.

Done waste your time with the stock trans. I've looked into it a good bit since its a common engine and trans package to grab out of a wrecked rig. I'm waiting for someone to wreck my sister in laws 99 Z/28 with an ls1/T56 combo so I can rape it for parts.

I'm going to do the same swap. But going with a 4.8l. Have T56 trans and everything to go along with it. Paid big bucks for trans. Later found out I could have used a NV3500 trans which is a 5 speed and about 1200.00 dollars cheaper. Going with a LSX is not cheap, but will be very reliable. I have just about everything to get started except for headers. Will wait until engine is installed to purchase. I would like to install complete supra rear end but don't know if it can be narrowed. Good luck with your swap. Keep us posted.

I'm hoping sometime soon I can get things rolling. Gotta check into state saftey and emissions to make sure I can legally run it in my truck.:waytogo:
