So I I'm going to lower my truck here soon and I'm lost on a few things
    1. I wanna lower my truck about 5 inches do I need to c notch the frame?
    2. Am I better off getting 4x4 fenders for my 17"
    3. What are good shocks to get?
4.should I stretch tires to reduce rubbing

    1. 5" will have the frame sitting on the axle
    2. Depends on the wheels (size, offset, width)
    3. Search is your friend... but someone will chime in.
    4. Again, it depends on the wheels, amongst other factors, but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt...

    Do you have any plans?

I would suggest reading through some project threads and searching for specifics... there is a lot of information stored in this forum

    1. If you want to get back some suspension travel, you can. Contact BeefedTaco's, SD Yota (if he wants to help out), and/or Empire Fabrication.
I only have a half notch in my frame because I didn't want to cut into my bed.

    2. If you want the aggresive look and extra flare, go for it. You're not "better off" if it's not what you want. It depends on how wide your wheels are and what the offsets are, too. The wider 4wd fenders let you have more space for that stuff. and tires, too.

    3. -

    4. - depends what you rub. I wouldn't advise doing it, but only to a certain amount. For a 5 inch drop with 17's, depending on your tires, you don't need to stretch. Hammer the pinch welds in and trim some of the front bump stops to save your tires from slamming into the wheel wells.

I have 18x10's all around. The fronts right now are 255/40 and they are slightly too tall. They rub when I turn. When I put 265/35 on, they don't rub.
tire height can come into play.

with a 17x8, you can probably get by with 245/40 tires.

The 17"s came with my truck and I don't want to spent the extra money to buy a diff set of rims
I know all the parts to order I just wanted to double check on the little things before I started

Daily driver and all around truck I'd start with a moderate drop maybe a 3/3 if its your first dropped truck and on a college budget .and if u already have the 17 inch wheels it will look good and still be a a good daily . Just my two cents

Ive had a dropped truck before it was a 3/4 but I had crashed i..the 3/3 isn't low enough for me and I have about 2k to play with after my training is done so if IMA do once I might as well do it right the first time...I'm gonna end up with 15s or 16s later down the Road
