Does anyone have a write-up about this? I need to drop my truck and wanted to make sure I have all the info before I try. Looks like 3 of the 4 shocks are all blown on my truck, so I wanted to do both at the same time.
Also - when you turn down the torsion bars does it become stiffer or softer? I've found both on the web. I can't afford drop spindles, this is my daily driver!

    Any info appreciated. Thanks! :D

As far as I know, there are no drop spindles for our truck.

You will have to turn down the torsions and decide how you like it.

There are people who can drag a 78 around and think it rides like a caddy. Not mentioning any names,,, cough byker cough :ROFL:
So it is all about personal taste, if you don't like it, think it is to soft or hard, then at least you can undo it.

hahaha. whatever. my 78 is the lowest static truck here, that still has a normal sized tire. lol. im tied with SD yota, although theres a few island trucks with tiny tires a bit lower overall. :D

but my suspension design uses coil springs (up to '78 they all did) so i cant raise it back up without new springs. i love it how it sits though. every torsion bar has different wear and tear on it though, so there isnt a set amount of adjustment equal to a set amount of result. id say bring it to where the adjuster arm is flush with the crossmember. thats usually about 3" for most trucks. if you like that, leave it. if you want more, get them slightly poking out of the crossmember. if its too much, just get them to go back up into the crossmember. and again with the wear and tear, for the truck to sit perfectly level they adjuster arms in the crossmember may not be even from one to the other. and make sure to either remove or trim the front bumpstops. start by removing them, and if it has too much dive to it, trim them down in stages to where it only dives til it his those bumpstops. my 78 doesnt have any, and i cant get it to hit metal on metal. and its very close.

and i didnt say it rides like a caddy, i said i can park it under a caddy

i have the torsion lowering with some shocks but they r blown n it bounces bad:doah:, i only have about 1inch till the bump stops. i dont think ive hit unless its a big pot hole or something. can anyone help me out finding nice stiff shocks? i like taking hard corners without insane body roll. o n if u guys know any beefy swaybars i can throw in also (front or back) i think im about 3or 4 inches. im running 15inch steelies with 50series tires so maybe 4 or 5 now?
