Finally got around to lowering my yota. Used 2" blocks in the rear(cuz i haul a lotta stuff!)
& loosened the torsion bars as far as they would go. Got a question, the ride seems a little "spongy".
I noticed im hitting the rubber stops in the front. Can I remove these without messing anything up?
Want to get new shocks to help with the ride. I've done some research
& like toxic shocks. Anyone use these?
I drive about 35 miles(one way) to work everyday & let me say I had forgotten just how much fun it is to drive a yota!
I don't wanna sound cheesy but there's nuthin like it!
There's alot more I have planned. Went & bought a couple of buckets from a '94 celica got them for only $40 bucks!
Hopefully I can have them installed by this weekend.
Want to replace vacuum lines & start redoing interior.
Also want to upgrade to a better intake..any suggestions? Maybe new exhaust 2 help my new 22re breath a lil better.
Ok Im just ramblin on now, but Im a lil excited bout working on my yota! I know it may be old news to all you veterans out there,
but its all new to me!:waytogo:

Look good...as for the front bump/rubber stops you can take them out & youll be ok. The Toxic shocks are a good shock to run...thats what Im using on my truck now. To help with performance Id got with a Flowmaster muffler & you can find a cheap aftermarket intake on Ebay.

GET DROP SPINDLES!! Do not waste your time with de-cranked torsion bars.

nice job man. keep up the good work!

keep in mind when you remove your bump stops, you will now have no cussion to soak up bottoming out on the shocks and could potentially damage your shock mount or strip the bolts right of the lower mounts.... i would not suggest it.

if you want better performing shocks, i suggest going with either KYB's or camaro shocks.... you will need to slightly modify the camaro lower bushing mount ((remove it and replace it with the toyota one))

go get some used drop spindles off someone here, or just save up a few hundred and get em. definately a worthy investment. you can also get drop arms for about $195 from summit racing (+shipping) and will retain stock ride quality.

this might be a little more expensive of an upgrade than you'd like but should you get the money, i would get the LC engineering 22RE power package..... intake, headers, balanced injectors, and a cam......... you swear you lit a dynamite stick under its rear to wake it up.....

the lc kit is overpriced imhob it costs $1,000!!!!!!

You can send your injectors in to a bunch of places and get them balanced for under $100, you can get a cam through engnbldr for another $100 (you also should replace other stuff when doing a cam though), the k&n fipk is waaaaaaay over priced and can be peiced together your self using a k&n filter and a generic afm adapter or a supra afm for under $100 or order a ebay kit with tubing and adapter and replace the filter with a k&n, leaving you with getting the header of your choice for around $350. So that's $650 total and you get the same result. Oh and the lc kit comes with a bored throttle body which on a 22re n/a with the stock afm isn't going to acomplish anything.....

im just chiming in on my experience. between what you pay for the shipping stuff seperately building your own "kit" and the difference it made, i think it was totally worth it!

LC's parts are also high quality stuff...... you get what you pay for i guess.

    that can be true.

ive dealt with LCE for a long time. they have good customer support and think their prices are a bit high but the quality is not disappointing:waytogo:

    just my $0.02

I agree that their stuff is great and have ordered my fair share of stuff from there

most overpriced thing from there though is their engines and they have no warranty lol

WOW...well i REALLY appreciate all of the info SD & 93. Went on the LCE website & they did seem a little pricey. From experience I'd rather spend a little more & get quality stuff, just one less thing to worry about. Guess I'd better start saving some money...maybe eat top ramen for a while so I can get sum parts for da yota!...lol

Sometimes you get what you pay for, but sometimes we must recognize that we are not all made of money so that means we must search, ask and shop around. Some great stuff and super advice going on. This trucks well on its way now, lets send em some Cup o' Noodles and see what he does . . .

I've been into performance parts for these trucks for a long time and know quite a bit about whats out there for these trucks especially 89-95's. So if anyone has a question about performance part for any toyota truck just shoot me a pm and I'll point you in the right direction. There are a lot of companies out there for the 22r/e that are just as high of quality if not better than Lc and they are usually cheaper.
