I know this is a site for mini's, and I have seriously looked everywhere I can for 4runner mods, and I just can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I have a 94' 4runner SR5 and I'm trying to find either pickup tail-lights or 4runner replacements. I know at one point they DID exist for the 4runner, and considering how some 4runner parts (hopefully not just front ends) can be used on pick-ups, i'm hoping to find a solution here. What I'm looking for is similar to these: But all clear, no red. Or Altezza style tail-lights. I have yet to find a clear answer if any pick-up tails will bolt on either so if that's a possibility then I have more options to look at with regards to euro/altezza style tails. Please let me know if you have any suggestions beside eBay.
As far as I know, you are right. I owned a '95 for a few years and could never find rear replacements except for stockish ones. I hope you find some, but I never did. The fronts are the same as the pickups.
I was a dealer for APC for a few years back in the early 2000's also with Tucan as well. We did not and never did make Altezza or clears for the 89-95 runners. I know a few companies make the altezzas for the 84-88 models and then of course 96 up but everything 89-95 was deemed inadequate since most people made them 4x4 monsters there was not a big enough target market for altezza lights for this range. Truck tail lights are different, they would not fit correctly. The front corner markers and turn signals are the same as 4X4 truck. There may be a knockoff company that makes them so keep searching. You might have to use a translator and check Japanese websites you'd probably have more luck searching their parts websites.
I wonder who did make them. I have been to a few runner sites and everyone seems to know they existed at one point but for a short time. I have searched the web high and low but not on Japanese sites. I'll have a go at that tonight and see if I happen to find something.
