locked e brakes

    my bro in law had his e brakes lock up on him while it was parked. i guess he had the e brakes on for a while now it wont release, how do i replace or repair this???

    whack the drum with a hammer, should pop em loose. dont be shy about it either.



    use a rock under the tire to store a car, the ebrake almost always will bond to the drum.

    Thats right shoNuff couldnt have said it better myself. This happen to me when I got mine out of the feild beat the shyt out of it and it broke free. But 915 like ShoNuff said dont be shy get friendly with it.

    i dont know i you could have beat mine till you were beat. i had to push it ,usually uphill, to get my brake to release. no problem now i disconnected my ebrake. at least till the disc brake conv.

    if your having a chronic problem with the ebrake sticking, take your drum off and clean out all the dust.

    the dust mixes with water and whatever else it can find to "cement" the pads to the drum.
