LIMITED SLIP for my 82???

    Anyone have any suggestions about what i should do??? Limited slip? posi? The goal is good traction in the snow. I wanna do it now before it gets icy... THX

    That's a two edged sword. A locker or LSD will help with traction IF you have traction on either of the two wheels. If you lose traction on both wheels, you'd be better off having an open diff as you wouldn't slide sideways as easily as if you get both wheels spinning.
    If traction is what you want, you need a well siped tire to begin with, studs or chains might be needed, and then I'd consider an LSD.

    Just grab an LSD unit out of a celica supra. (82-86) IIRC.

    Not all of them have LSD/posi. But a build sticker or a quick spin of the driveshaft will tell you.

    Not easy to swap, as they require a backlash adjustment, but it can be done. Cheap and easy route if you do some junkyard hunting.

    Or you could drop 400+ bucks on an aftermarket locker...

    Do you have a 7.5" or 8" rear end? I just finished swapping a 3.91 gear set and LSD from an 88 supra into my 75. If you can rebuild the rear end then you can do this swap.

    ....is my next project. slowly but surely. and finding the right car is 80% of the problem.

    I have the 84 7.5 from supra in my truck right now and a supra lsd 8 inc from 86 to 92 with a spring upgrade kit it useless to me so it for sale because I forget to cheap what I had in my truck

    with the truck upgrade kit
