Hey whats up guys? new to the site.
just bought a 1992 pickup and im trying to lift it to the height of a 4wd.
Is that possible? can I raise it by turning the torsions? how high can i go by turning the torsions? is a body lift the only option available? please let me know what u guys come up with. The vehicle is at stock height right now.
want to put some 31's on there. i know this thread is typically about lowering
but looking for some advice. thanks......

You should do a Baja style 2WD xcab. that will be really sexy, seriously.

anyway, you can go with longer control arms, forgot who makes them, but you can definitely crank them up. teh rear you can always go with 4WD leafs and blocks if you like.

4WD fenders for clearance too. Body lift is also your choice too.

btw the Forum is open to all Toyota minis. lift or lower

There are lift spindles and longer control arms out there. It's all just a matter of how much money you want to put into it. Check out this site:

Nice stuff but I'm sure it's all really spendy. If you can afford it then it would probably be the most quality type of lift. Otherwise you could crank up the torsions an inch or so and put on a body lift if you just want a more aggressive look and the ability to clear bigger tires, but you wont gain a whole lot this way.

:shrug:You might consider lowering your truck. I say this as a guy with a lifted truck, but to me it just makes sense to lift the 4WDs and lower the 2WDs. Unless of course you are going to go all out like the Total Chaos stuff, I couldn't see anything wrong with that.:D You could do a ball joint flip and crank down the torsion bars and remove the middle spring from your rear leaf packs and get a nice little drop all for free. You might have a already been aware of this but I just thought I'd point it out in case. Either way, welcome to the forum and I look forward to seeing how you decide to modify your Toyota!

Yep, what he said. It always made sense that 4WD's go up and 2WD's go down. But if you got some radical plans and cash, you can pull it off!
