New to this site and decided to join after reading some advice given,
working on my sons 1990 2 wheel dr petrol uts 22 R timing guide exploded inside,
I'm having trouble removing sump, have removed cross member as manual states yet theres no way its coming out, thats all the manual said but looks like the steering linkage needs to be removed, any ideas, the only reason i'm working on it is my son got third degree welding burns on his arm (hes a welder) just a common accident. so dads doing the work , appreciate any advice on the sump and any tips on replacing timing kit. thanks all and have a great day.

 

all you have to do is unbolt the ilder arm on the passenger side of the frame, its 3 bolts and will allow the steering to drop out of the way enough to get the pan out.
