Ive heard that the lca is 19mm longer on newer trucks than whats on my 80.

Does any one have the exact measurement from center of the ball joint to center of the mounting hole?

I eyeballed the only 2wd pickup at the scrapyard and got 14", my 80 is 14"

I've heard the same that the later arms are longer which is why parts match from 84-95 but I have no evidence of it. I would just measure to be sure. There might also be some geometry differences that need to be worked out too but again...

I won't be able to measure my trucks until Saturday but I'll do it. I think the difference is in the valley joint mounting pattern.

I know the 84-88 and 89-95 have different ball joint patterns. I found that out the hard way with an old fabtech kit I used to have. in the pic is an 89-95 ball joint and and 84-88 pattern on the arm. Dont know about the 83 and down though.

My 80 looks similar (not sure about spacing).

Im curious if the 19mm comes from just the balljoint being longer?

The first image is from a 84-88 the second is from a 79-83.
That newer ball jount sure looks longer.

Sorry life got busy for a bit. 14 3/4" from center of the pivot bolt to the center of the ball joint. The lower ball joint looks just like the 84-88 pictured above.
