Yeah the guy who did it said it had something to do with the automatic trans connector. It only works with a manual trans though. Ill figure it out and let you know

wire a switch under the dash somewhere to an important relay. fuel pump or starter relay works good. in line of its signal, you run your own switch up to the dash and back. so if its off, that circuit won't operate. pretty simple. also works on the coil itself.

it can be done on either stick or auto. stick use the clutch start switch, auto use the PN switch. you can always use a couple relays or power transisters so it only starts in reverse (obviously stick only) with the park lamps (but not head lamps) on.

Just remember that any security can only slow down the crook, not stop them. no matter what you do to it, they can find a way around it. plus if they make a habit of it, they know to look for switches and buttons.

the PO of my truck was an idiot and wired it so the key did nothing but unlock the steering wheel. everything turned on via a switch on the left side of the column, and the starter was a 3/4" HD button on the right side. both in plain sight. he was a brilliant one...

my 92 2wd base and one of my friends subaru legacy both have something called an electrolock which a basically a key looking think that sits inside a housing and is bolted to the dash down by the hood release switch. if they key isnt in there then you can turn the key and electronics will turn on but the engine wont turn over.

i use it everyone once in a while, like if i dont want my dad to drive my truck ill take it out and set it in the glove box and he has no idea why the truck wont start haha
