i was thinking of dropping in a ka24de 4 cylinder into my 76 yota pickup and was wondering if anyone has experience with this swap i was on the website
ka-t.com and was told 300-350 hp was achievable on a stock bottom end and 10 psi i know a lot of purists here are goin to get mad but a 20r doesn't get the power im looking for and any jz is to pricey can anyone give me any advice on this

i thought about doing it since i had an extra KA motor, and wiring harness.. it would be easiest to find a beat up 240sx or hardbody and strip it of all it's parts. and you would need to get/make a custom driveshaft. motor/trans mounts. etc.

there are a ton of aftermarket parts for the KA. but to do a decent turbo kit, even piecing together, your looking at least close to a grand ( varies quite a bit depending on parts used) plus the donor car and parts.

anything is possible, just a matter of how much work your going to need to do/are able to do.

Swap in a 2RZ. You can get power like that from low boost as well and its a toyota motor.

7Ms can be cheap. Kinda heavy though. The 2RZ is better. Just buy a Nissan truck to put a Nissan engine in it. Either way you will be rebuilding the engine at least once so you can turbo it.

    I got handed down a 98 Frontier xtra cab 2wd w a blown HG.
not as easy to work on i have to say.

I pulled the head, got it machined flat put on a new HG and cheaped out on tchain tensioner.
it slipped and the the pistons got intimate w the valves

16V headjob cost more than out 8V headjob!!!

slapped everything back together with a NEW timing chain n tensioner setup
    didn't fire right.
changed the cam alignement - fired but had a low end miss
right now i pulled the valvecover and still trying to figure it out.

I think my whole 22R rebuild was quicker than this nightmare I got myself into.

Even thou my Toyota looks beat on the outside, it runs
The Nissan is opposite, looks nice - (i keep getting offers to sell) but it don't work.

As much as I'd like to swap out the engine, I like to keep it simple.
