As Im brand new to old toyota trucks, got a question about clutch operation.

How is the clutch suppose to feel? Is it suppose to engage kinda low to the floor? Im used to american, stiff feeling clutchs, that catch really high, if this makes sense. Just didnt know if they are suppose to be that way.

honestly im not sure because im replacing my clutch as we speak but as soon as i get it in i will tell you how mine feels as my clutch has been slipping since i bought it... so it has way too much play but i imagine it would engage lower to the floor then my 77 gmc ha ha that stiff suma gun engages when i get it up to my knee ha ha.

There are all ways going to be variables as to where the clutch catches. As long as it catches, it is usually fine. If you are worried about it, then drop the trans and have a look see.

It's supposed to start engaging about 1" to 1-1/2" when you first step on the pedal... If all your hydraulic components check good, adjust the master cylinder push rod at the pedal...
