I have a 95' pickup and i was wondering where is the correct spot to lift your truck and to set the stands Pics would help if you can Gonna start changing my own oil and such and feel like a real Car Guy
For the front I usually jack it up by the crossmember and I'll usually place the jackstands on the frame. Jacking up the back I put the jack on the rear diff and also put the jackstands on the rear diff. It all depends on what I'll be working on as for placing the stands. Hope that helps.
yup thats what i do, i lift it so that theres enough room to move around under neath with out hitting the frame.
Ill take some pics for you tomorrow...I would have done it earlier, but I didnt see your question till now. I just jack the front up by the front crossmember like the others that have posted, but some pics will be helpful to everyone.
Here are some pics of how "I" jack up my truck & where I put my jackstands! Oh & consider this...my truck is non adjustable & is low as piss so I dont put the stands directly under the frame! my jack & stands... where I start to jack the truck up at... great place to put jack stands...right under the cab/frame mounts... plenty of clearance...
Ok...some more pics, but I put the stands under the front swaybar mounts for alittle more lift... final result... *Ok...here is another place you can put the jack if your able to get it under the truck lol...
