Hey guys recently I traded my 89 s10 for a 92 yota. It was bagged when I got it, But Ive been redoing everything because the way it was bagged was bad...Bags on lower bars but off the side of them so they twisted the **** outa the bushings and bolts. The axle also hit the bottom of the notch and it wasnt centered...I will post up pics when I get back from the store in a little bit, But I just wanted to ask this question quick first...Im getting ready to do the body drop prolly next week...In my driveway I have it laid out...I look under it and looks like frame lays all the way out...I touch the fame and ground and cant feel any space between them...The frame is not z'd...How is this possoble?? Is there another way besides "z"ing the frame to get it to lay out that the porevious owner might have done? Thanks guys, Hopefully someone has an answer for me.

Yes, to lay frame...My frame lays out but the frame is not "z"d, so I was wondering how this is possible since everyone says you must "z" the frame to lay out. Sorry The rear is on jackstands right now cause im waiting till tomarrow till my buddys shop is open to get tubing to make new lower bars. So I cant really jack it up right now to look under it to see what has been done.
    P.S. pics comming soon.

i don't know how your laying full frame with out it being z'd unless they moved the control arms up my truck has the custom tranny cross member and still didn't lay in the front completely also it was laying on the engine cross member so maybe they built a custom one yours but mine will lay now (Z'd) well as soon as im done welding it up

can you post up some pics of the front frame as well as the engine/suspension crossmember. a yota requires about a 1.25" z to lay full frame in addition to the modded tranny x-member.

Haha well then that's prolly what it has, cause it lays flat out. If that's all you have to do, then why does everyone swear that it has to be "z"d??

but the engine cross member hits unless you do something custom with it cause like i said i have the tranny crossmember that tucks up it still hit the engine cross member so it wouldn't lay all the way in the front

the reason alot of people z them is for larger tire wheel combos. they will bind the arms and get alot of camber. the crossmember will hand low, but alot of guys just drag til its flat. but i have heard this debate many times about yota frames.

:brickknock: :brickknock: :brickknock:..... the frame will not lay full frame without a "z" or modded front suspension mounts. i think the confusion is coming from peoples ideas of what "laying out" is. some consider it the frame touching the ground in a couple spots, others consider it when the whole frame touches. it would require a huge amount of error at the toyota factory for some trucks to need it and some to not need it. here is a factory diagram for a toyota truck. it's an 85, but is pretty much identical all the way up till 95.

maybe it has to do with engine size? v6 and 22re and 22r...cuz i swear my motor crossmember never did hang below...all i had to do was remove that pipe thing that goes across and my whole frame layed except the radiaotor etc.
