Mine is going bad and need to install new one. I have the tools, but the instruction from the Haynes manual say to turn until the meter deflect. what does that mean? I have a digital meter.
This is a fairly important adjustment. U say you have the manual. So compare your new tps to the diagram in the manual and you will see that the terminals are named. These terminals are the ones that you attach your leads on your meter to (set to measure ohms or resistance ) "until it defects" means once connected to the specified terminals you won't have any reading...you turn the tps slowly in the direction it tells you until your meter registers a reading.... Do the tests as indictated. This is best (and most definitely easier ) if you remove the throttle body. (Plus as a benefit you can get a can of carb cleaner and clean the back of the throttle body butterfly!)
